Tastefully renovated village house on three floors in one of Andalucia´s most attractive white villages. Dominated by its castle; the twisting narrow streets, the white-washed houses and the profusion of flower-covered doorsteps and balconies, give Gaucin a distinctly Moorish flavour.
From the lounge and terrace there are superb views down to the Mediterranean and on clear days Gibraltar and the Rif mountains of Africa.
The house is situated in Gaucin, on the southern edge of the Sierrania de Ronda Mountains. Gaucin contains all amenities and is ideally located for a range of outdoor pursuits, particularly birdwatching, golf and watersports, as well as being central to the major Moorish towns and cities.
Alternatively you can stay locally, relax, soak up the village atmosphere, or just sunbathe! Gaucin is surrounded by some of the most splendid mountain scenery and national parks in Andalucia. Beaches and coastal resorts are close and Morocco is only 45 minutes from Tarifa.
The ground floor of Casa San Isidoro comprises an entrance hall, lounge with double sofa bed, a well-appointed kitchen, a double bedroom with ensuite shower-room and a flower-filled courtyard. Stairs lead to a large lounge on the first floor with wood fire, dining area and views to the coast. A fold-up single bed is available if needed. Steps lead off to a shower-room with WC, basin, bidet, and shower and continue on to a double bedroom (can be twin), with dressing/storage area off. A further staircase leads to a large roof terrace with spectacular views of the village and valley to the coast. There is further terrace furniture and a washhouse with washing machine.
Gaucin contains several small friendly supermarkets, two banks, a medical centre, a range of restaurants and bars, a swimming pool and tennis courts, and a ruined Moorish Castle.
The area is ideal for painting, sketching and photography and for the more energetic, walking, climbing and horse riding, freshwater and sea fishing.
| Booking notes: | Changeover day is usually Saturday although we are flexible depending on prior bookings.
A 40% deposit is payable to secure the booking with the balance due five weeks prior to arrival.
